you are the last arrow in my

quiver, the little flame neatly

notched in my bow

the lake in my mind's gone quiet

the moon and the swans all

gone to sleep

can i anticipate what will

extinguish you

or will we dim here, arrow

and archer, one ashen image

against a georgia blue sky
